Raisonnances Humanistes designs and operates structured co-production processes between African and European institutions. The organisation brings research, governance and financing actors into a single framework, to produce operational policy recommendations targeted at the negotiation cycles of continental research frameworks. African institutions co-define the agenda, co-produce the recommendations and co-own the outputs.
The model
Biennial with institutional memory
Each edition measures what changed since the last, adjusts recommendations, sustains pressure. The format is the signature. The thematic content changes.
Intersectoral by design
Research, governance and financing in a single co-production process. Operational recommendations because the architecture forces the intersection.
Bilateral, not Euro-centric
The starting point is African continental strategies. The initiative builds the interface between two continents, not a one-way channel.
A transversal question runs across everything we do: why certain data, protocols and research outputs are recognised as evidence in international programming frameworks while equivalent knowledge produced by African institutions is not. Our processes do not only document this asymmetry. They embody the alternative. The architecture is the argument.
